Alpha bisabolol is the active ingredient in chamomile essential oil, specifically german chamomile essential oil. It is a clear liquid and it is produced through large-scale fermentation.

It possess anti inflammatory properties, anti irritant properties and some antimicrobial benefits.

What is Alpha Bisabolol Used For?

Alpha bisabolol is mainly used for its anti inflammatory and soothing properties. It can be used in products designed for sensitive skin as it can reduce skin sensitivity and irritation.

It also demonstrates antimicrobial activity, meaning it can enhance product preservation.

Alpha bisabolol can be used in cosmetic products for sensitivity like baby care products and after sun products. It can also be used in skincare products for all skin types like skin creams, lotions, perfume and moisturisers.

How to Use Alpha Bisabolol

The recommended usage rates for alpha bisabolol are between 0.1% and 1.0%. It should be added to the cool down phase of your recipe, after the other ingredients have been emulsified. Before adding alpha bisabolol, the temperature of the main mixture must be below 40°C to 50°C.
