How Does Peppermint Oil Repel Spiders?

Spiders don’t like strong odours, especially peppermint. The main component of peppermint essential oil is menthol, which overwhelms spiders.

Spiders actually smell and taste with their legs, so when the menthol floods their sensors, it becomes too overwhelming and irritating, causing the spider to avoid those areas.

How To Use Peppermint Spray

How To Use It

The peppermint repellent should be sprayed anywhere indoors where spiders may enter from or places they may hide. Some places you can apply the spray around doors and windows, behind furniture and in the corners of rooms.

We recommend using the spray once a week to start with. If you find spiders keep making their way in, try applying the spray every few days.

Remember, this repellent alone may not completely deter all spiders. It is best used with other measures to keep spiders out like keeping doors and windows shut and dusting and vacuuming regularly.
