Wintergreen essential oil is steam distilled from the wintergreen herb (gaultheria procumbens). The essential oil is clear in colour with a sweet, herbal aroma.

The main active ingredient in wintergreen oil, methyl salicylate, has natural soothing effects and mild anti inflammatory properties.

Wintergreen oil has a sweet and herbal aroma and it is a middle note in blends. It blends well with cinnamon, nutmeg, peppermint, rose geranium and lavender.

How to Store Wintergreen Essential Oil

To prolong the quality of wintergreen oil, it should be stored out of direct sunlight, in a cool dry place to. Always ensure essential oils are stored out of reach of children.

Wintergreen essential oil is a highly concentrated oil that can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions if used incorrectly. To use the essential oil on the skin, it must be diluted in a carrier oil before being applied topically.
