Why Make Your Own Clay Cleansing Balm?
Clay cleansing balms only need a few ingredients: oil, wax, emulsifier and clay. That’s it.
It is so easy to make a cleansing balm at home with natural ingredients that your skin loves. Making your own allows you to control exactly what goes onto your skin!
Not only that, but commercial cleansing balms are often packed with synthetic fragrances, preservatives and unnecessary chemicals that can irritate sensitive skin.

What is French Yellow Clay?
Yellow clay is a 100% natural mineral clay from France and it is composed of illite and kaolin.
French yellow clay is suitable for all skin types including normal and sensitive skin.
It is a very gentle clay and it has amazing cleansing properties. It naturally removes impurities from the skin, absorbs excess sebum and it is a very gentle exfoliator.
Cleansing Balm Recipe
As well as yellow clay, we are also using coconut oil and jojoba oil for their natural cleansing properties. Castor oil is great for added moisturising properties and to reduce irritation. Candelilla wax helps bind the ingredients together and thicken the balm.
The only unnatural ingredient we are using is SLS free emulsifying wax. This is needed to help wash off the cleansing balm, but don’t worry it isn’t harsh on the skin!
